| SST MATHCOUNTS |

MATHCOUNTS is a national enrichment, club and competition program at SST that promotes middle school mathematics achievement through grassroots involvement.
Our MATHCOUNTS coaches are pleased to announce MATHCOUNTS school wide elimination test, which will be held at 3:10 pm, on Friday September 10th, 2010 in Room C110. Middle school students may sign up for the test by the front office or just email students full name, grade level and section to yberdimuradov@ssttx.org before 5:00 pm, September 9th, 2010. We are looking forward to seeing you contribute to our team.

| GRADING SCALE |
|
All classes at SST will follow this standard scale for assigning letter grades for six-week periods, finals and semester work. Individual teachers will establish the grading policies and procedures for their classes, and their grades will correspond to this scale: A 90 100 B 80 89 C 70 79 F 0 69
Conduct Grades: E Excellent S Satisfactory N Needs Improvement P Poor I Incomplete

| SST ORIENTATION DAYS |

SST would like to welcome our students and their families for an exciting new 2010-2011 school year. We hope you are enjoying your summer vacation with your family and are ready for school. Before school starts, wed like to keep you updated about back-to-school preparations. Students and parents or guardians are cordially invited to attend our orientations at School of Science and Technology.
During the orientation, you will have an opportunity to meet our faculty members, learn about the gifted and talented program, apply for free or reduced lunch, explore the after school activities, purchasenew school uniform, sign up for PTO, and find answers to all of your questions.

| DISTCO 2009 RESULTS |
|
DISTCO 2009 results have been announced today. Please visit www.distco.org for official results.
The competition was very though due to significant increase in student participation this year. The judges had a hard time to select the top projects from 489 digital stories submitted. Please visit the official website to see award winning digital stories from this year's contest.

We would like to announce the First Annual Districtwide Digital Photo Contest I-Click 2010 winners organized and sponsored by School of Science and Technology.
This competition was opened to all SST students and staff members from Main campus, Discovery, and Alamo campuses and also Harmony Science Academy San Antonio, from March 30 through April 30 2010.
All winners were chosen from every campus and reviewed by a panel of community judges, out of school district administration and judged on three main factors: A.Nice Creativity %50 / B.Quality of Photograph %25 / C.Best Illustration %25
All winning photos will be posted on permanent display at all campuses for public viewing.

| UNFORGETTABLE WASHINGTON DC TRIP |
|
School of Science and Technology has organized amazing out of state Field Trip to Washington DC for 10th, and 11th grade students from Friday May 14th through Monday May 17th, 2010.
The educational part of this trip was visiting the top colleges in the country and DC area, like Johns Hopkins University, George Mason University, Georgetown University and George Washington University. That was lifetime opportunity for our high school students.
Having Washington DC Hop-On-Hop-Off Open-Top Double-Decker Bus Tour we have visited places like National Museum of Natural History, Air Space Museum, White House Visitor Center, Lincoln Memorial and also we had a chance to glance at Pentagon City and Arlington Cemetry.
