Ms.Lutka’s Class!

About me

Mary Lutka, better known as Ms. L., is a Social Studies teacher for the 6th, 7th, and 8th grades at the School of Science and Technology-San Antonio. She received her Bachelors degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas State University and her Texas teaching certificate in 2014. She is qualified to teach Social Studies grades 4-12 and every core subject grades 4-8. She decided to be a teacher in the 3rd grade and decided to teach middle school in the 5th grade. She has worked toward this life-long dream ever since and she says she is "truly living the dream". The students inspire Ms. L. to be the best teacher and person she can be every single day. She received her Level One Archery Instructor certificate from USA Archery in 2014 and is coaching the Archery Club at SST, a program she and Mr. Gomez happily started last school year.

Nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude.

I hope that each one of you had a wonderful and relaxing summer vacation. I am very excited for the 2014-2015 school year. I am looking forward to getting to know this year’s 6th grade students and helping to create an atmosphere of success and respect in my classroom. My expectations for academic growth and achievement are high.  A cooperative effort will be made between parent, student and teacher to ensure student success. In order to achieve cooperation between all three, communication is key. Please do not hesitate to contact me. You can call the school at 210-804-0222, but the best way to reach me is by e-mail at If I am not readily available, I will get back to you within twenty-four hours.
